What Is a Superfood?
What is a Superfood? It’s a good question, and one that I get asked often… what exactly are Superfoods, and are they actually ‘super’? Well, the devil is in the detail, and foods that are being marketed as ‘Superfoods’ may not necessarily be all they claim to be. In short, a ‘Superfood’ is generally accepted to be a food that has a radically higher nutrient density than other food. For example, Cacao has 30x more antioxidants than blueberries? I’d call that a Superfood.
It’s this ‘grey area’ around what is (and what isn’t) a Superfood that has me so excited about Luke and my latest project. Luke and I have been in cahoots for quite some time now, and we are proud to announce our latest project: we are now the brand ambassadors for Nature’s Way Superfoods. Over the coming months, we will be working with the Nature’s Way team to bring you a bunch of new Superfoods recipes (of course) to help squeeze more nutrients into your day. Importantly, we will also be helping you take a closer look at each of their Superfoods products – from their single ingredient products like Super Chia Seeds and Super Maca to their potent Super Greens Plus Powder, and helping you understand how you might benefit from adding each in to your daily diet. There’s more to Nature’s Way Superfoods than you might think!
Keep an eye out on my Instagram, Twitter and Facebook pages for these new recipes as they are published.
